Serón

This truly is a charming and beautiful town full of history.

Serón has a magnificent castle which is in the centre of the town and was built by the Muslims in 8th century, nowadays only the walls are preserved.

The town is known for its metals, water resources and strategic position at the entrance of Valle del Almanzora.

The economy is based mainly in the food industry and has benefited from a microclimate that is suitable for curing of the jamon (Spanish ham).

There are many beautiful excursion routes, from La Sierra de los Filabres, Los Angostos, Pozos de las Nieves & Las Menas, where you can take a break by a lovely picnic area surrounded by the natural forest.

Tijola

Tijola is a town in Almeria with just under 4,000 habitants.

The main source of income in Tijola comes from the service sector, closely followed by agriculture & construction.

It's railway station was abandoned in 1985. Previously this line linked the towns of Murcia and Granada, but over the years had become unusable. There are currently plans to regenerate it into cycle-ways and walk-ways.

One of the towns most attractive areas is it's main park which is known as El Paseo. The park has many beautiful rose-beds and other different flowers with many vibrant colours. The park also has a terraced café bar. Tijola has all the amenities, and it is easily linked to other major areas.
